Prince Bonaparte, Westbourne Grove
FancyaPint?'s review...
We're obviously getting a bit colour-blind when it comes to gastro conversions - we didn't even notice the mismatched light fixtures, flock wallpaper and the dull paint colours that decorate the bar. It's not as gastro as other pubs in the area, and for that it gets credit. Decent beer and cider on the taps (Adnam's Old Ale was on when we were in last - nice), a wine list that's probably above and beyond for a lot of people and a good pub grub menu. The fact that there's a separate dining area back near the bogs, oh, and the kitchen, also scores well with us, as it leaves plenty of room for drinking. Although relatively quiet when we were in last, it is likely to get noisy with any substantial crowd, with all the hard surfaces. Still, with an open fire and good choice of drink, what more could you want right now?
