Just as the Wenlock Arms is the real ale mecca in north London here's its equivalent south of the river. Going by the beer mats plastered round the pub they've had more ales guesting here than you'll probably taste in your life. You'll always be guaranteed an excellent pint - there were five real ales on the pumps when we last looked in, well kept and rather tasty. There's been a slight redecoration since we last visited: no great rearrangement, but a general sprucing up that hasn't altered things too much. The food on offer is of the traditional variety and the service is warm and friendly. The pubs also plays host to a regular Scrabble night and when we last popped in, was advertising a meet for the South London Classical Guitar Society. The beer alone would make this one worth it, but the whole package makes it definitely one to make the trip for.

went to the Pub quiz last night with friends. First visit. The beer drinkers in the group were very happy...the quiz was fun. There was a friendly welcoming atmosphere in the pub...we will be back. Great to have found a good local pub!
