Queen Victoria, Bermondsey
FancyaPint?'s review...
The Queen Victoria is a pub of such a vintage that the sign outside lists 'day trips' as one of the facilities on offer (it also offers raffles and golf). We're not sure if the charabanc still heads off to Margate nowadays; it certainly didn't on our previous visit, as the pub was packed. It's got a lovely Victorian interior and warm atmosphere. Venerable bar staff keep an eye on proceedings, as the punters watch the sport on TV or indulge in a bit of it themselves (pool table at the front, dart board at the side). One for the locals perhaps, but judging from our visit newcomers won't have any problems.
