Queen's Arms, Clapham Common
FancyaPint?'s review...
From the outside, this pub looks the typical run-down old boozer; inside it screams 1970s working men's club. The range of beers is small and they seem to have only one bottle of whisky. That doesn't stop people being friendly or quick and efficient service. Everybody talks to you in this pub, the service is excellent and the drink is cheap. The clientele does tend toward the older locals from the area, all of whom give a warm welcome to newcomers, but younger clientele are welcome, too. The atmosphere does have a hint of 'Cheers' about it - everybody knows your name etc, etc. Unusual for a London pub, especially in an upcoming area, and definitely to be encouraged.
