Quinn's, Camden
FancyaPint?'s review...
Quinn's is a large, friendly pub boasting an amazing selection of beer on tap and in bottles. In particular, there is a very large selection of bottled German and Belgian beers, including some really high-quality and rare ones. It's a shame that they've been sidelined of late, with the old numbered menu now gone. This leaves people in the awkward position of having to gesticulate wildly with the elderly Irish governor, or his foreign bar staff, as you attempt to get them to understand you'd like Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier in your broken, GCSE level German (last time we ended up with bacon flavour crisps). It might be easier to ask for one of the three or four ales available on tap. Nevertheless, visits here generally provide a good atmosphere, with some people watching football, some enjoying the food, and others just chatting; the pub is spacious enough to accommodate all of these without difficulty. There's also a cosy little yard out the back, if you fancy catching some sunshine (or rain) with your pint and the late licence is a quietly kept surprise if you fancy carrying on beyond 11pm.

Absolute craphole. I had to write a review after my experience here which was awful in which I left fuming. The reason for this was because I asked for a pint of water during my pint of stout and was refused it with hand gestures and mumbling profanities. The bar staff were lovely but the owners were completely rude and offensive, especially the old lady. I witnessed her verbally abuse a staff member and the old man followed up on this with some of the same. I found this totally unacceptable as you could see he was trying his best and ultimately giving excellent service in vain in my opinion. A friend of a friend who lives close by told me they have a very high staff turnover and I can see why. Why not get an Irish barman it would suit the place much better. They were foreign and I question the pay and working conditions, maybe I should report this? Anyway visible dirt and rank toilets was the straw that broke the camels back for me. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE
