Last chance to see: This lovely little pub in Kensington has apparently been trading since 1862, but despite winning a respite last year, it looks like its last opening day will be the 8th of March. A crying shame, as this is a fine pub. The back room, with its comfy sofa is good for chilling out (if there isn't a darts match on) with a huge fish tank to watch. You'll probably be joined by the pub dog and cat, who spent a lot of the time blissed out in a state of unconsciousness. The well-kept beers include Everard's Tiger as a regular and a recent addition is the "Rad no More" specially brewed as the pub bows out - we've been warned there's not a lot of beer left, so you may have to do with Cinzano. You can add your protest to the rest and details of where to send your letter are here. septic 13/02/2007 - previously rated: 4 pints. The well-kept beers include Everard's Tiger as a regular and Skinners was on as a guest last time we were in. It does get busy at lunch and commuting times, however, but do give it a look: it looks increasingly like March 10th will be this pub's last day of pint pulling. septic 13/01/2006 - previously rated: 4 pints. This lovely little pub in Kensington has apparently been trading since 1862, but there appeared to have been some doubt about its future - there was a bit of a media blow-up about it, started by CAMRA, with a petition and everything and it looks like it might have worked. It's a great place for a quiet pint of an afternoon. The back room, with it's comfy sofa is good for chilling out (if there isn't a darts match on) with a huge fish tank to watch. And even though the petition appears to have been successful, go and visit it anyway - our continued custom means its continued existence. It would be a shame to lose another great pub.
