Railway Tavern (ex-Old Henry's), London
FancyaPint?'s review...
From the people who brought you the Pineapple in Kentish Town comes the Railway Tavern Ale House as they resist the temptation to continue with a fruit theme. Probably wise as we'd be reluctant to drink at a pub called The Kumquat. As they point out with their more sensible name, a change from the previous Old Henry's Freehouse, ale has a large part to play here with six on the pumps. Darkstar Partridge was among those we enjoyed on our visit. There's also no need to resort to cooking lager, with a couple of German choices and Meantime's London Lager on offer. On the decor front there isn't too much to report apart from the pot of (legal) herbs on each table, although the natural curve of the building and its big windows all along one side create a warm, open space. There's a quiz on Tuesdays and a music night `Folk Friday' was advertised so this promises to be a good addition to the area.

Great selection of ales. In-obtrusive (background) music which makes it a great place to catch up with friends. Not overly trendy punters (thankfully) and good food. Nice staff too, Chris particularly is a nice bloke, he's the one that sourced the mosquette to upholster the chairs in bona fide London Underground fabric! We're very pleased to finally have a decent local pub.
