Being both on the busy and grimy Commercial Road and located more or less underneath a railway bridge, the Railway does have a rather off-putting air to it. However, it's a fairly decent locals haunt, appealing to both a gay and straight clientele. It's the sort of place where the bar staff greet their regulars as soon as they walk in the door and start pouring drinks in anticipation of their orders. Even with Pride on the hand pumps and Sky TV for the sport, it doesn't have too much to offer the passing pubgoer, but given the paucity of venues in these parts, it will have to suffice.
