Rising Sun, Willesden Green
FancyaPint?'s review...
On the outside it looks like a young, bright, happening pub, but inside is a different story. This is definitely a pub for locals or passers by with relatively low expectations. Not to say that going there is an unpleasant experience, just that you shouldn't expect too much. We got the impression this pub had recently changed hands, but that this wasn't going to lead to any change in the way things were run or how they looked. The new landlord cited 'lack of demand' for the dearth of cask ales, and there was the standard array of lagers (and John Smiths for the bitter drinkers). However, in its favour is a back room with a decent pool table (plus many pool trophies) and a darts board. There is also a rear garden for the summer. All in all this is a good example of a quiet, unassuming traditional pub; quite possibly one of the better ones in an area not overly endowed with boozers.
