Well, it's not a Wetherspoon pub any longer, and it shows. It's opted for more of a sports bar approach which, as usual, translates into lager, big screens, hard flooring and that cold bar look we've seen too much of. Okay, there are real ale pumps - five to be exact - but there were only two beers on and we can't say the IPA we had was the best kept beer. It's a bit of a landmark and has a lovely tiled Victorian facade, and may be worth using as a meeting place, but that's about all we can recommend it for. Shame it's gone downhill since the change.

Since the change of ownership an now know as @Purple Patch i must say them lot need to be thanked for uplifting this place as to how it was left in the first place the team seem to be a close nit family and work hard towards giving you a personalized and friendly service, no food served yet but have been informed there are working towards getting it started soon. worth going down once a week as there have a resident DJ who play nice retro as well as karaoke nights always a good thing to let yourself drift. all in all will just wish them the very best and feel giving them a try once at least!!!
