After casting an eye over so many identical pub refits, it's always a pleasure to come across a venue that's doing something a little different. Here's a self-styled 'bar and screen' which lives up to the name, laying on a screening each and every day. Free entry, a simple refit (walls covered with more red curtains than a David Lynch film), a large screen and a decent enough range of drink to enjoy whilst you enjoy the visuals (we particularly liked the range of bottled beers in the fridge - and the cocktails). If that wasn't enough, the bar food looked enticing and mains come in under the £10 mark. The films on show range from recent releases, cult classics and experimental shorts - there should be something on to appeal to any filmgoer so it's definitely worth contacting the bar to find out more about their listings as they constantly change. Now if only they had an usherette selling ice creams...
