Royal Oak, Chingford
FancyaPint?'s review...
The Royal Oak is a pleasant enough, older-style McMullen's pub. Not being very near any nice walkable countryside it does however tend to be the preserve of locals and a scattering of lunchtime workers from the nearby car lots. There's a fairly heavy football presence in the public bar, especially on weekends (which can attract a fair few geezers), while the larger saloon bar is a little more relaxed. Still, service is very good indeed, while bar billiards and a side garden provide decent distractions. Not one to necessarily make a special trip for, its a perfectly nice place where you can enjoy a pint or two of McMullen's AK bitter (which is actually a light mild ale) if you happen to a be either a local or simply passing through.
