Shade, Islington
our final review

The old Hogshead - never a great place to go to - is now Shade. The inept re-usage of the letters of the old sign suggests that this place is not long for this world. It's in a prime location, with a bit more thought and effort, this place really could be something. For now, we can't recommend it.
Turned into a Brazilian Restuarant. No great loss.

It might be something about its history, an anecdote about the past, what the future plans are for it, or even it's reopened again as a pub - it has been known to happen.
77 Upper Street, Islington, London, N1 0NU
From Angel, go out of the station and carry on along Upper Street past the Business Design Centre until you get to Islington Green. The pub's opposite the green.
