Sir Christopher Hatton, Farringdon
FancyaPint?'s review...
This pub on Leather Lane has had its original moniker restored and the initial signs are good. If you've been there before, you won't notice a vast difference to the interior, other than comfy chairs and the downstairs bar being made over into the "Candlelight bar". But, all that said, the important things have improved - Nicholson's have taken it over and immediately the beer selection is superb. The prices are pretty good for a pub on the edge of the City, too. And combined with their normal outstanding menu means it's a place worth going to now: try the sausages, any of the sausages - particularly at one of their sausage tastings - and we think you'll agree. We can't see that the clientele have changed much, and they probably haven't, but they aren't complaining about the changes. It's nice to see a return to form for this one and we'll keep an eye on it - lets hope it continues.
