Spread Eagle, Shoreditch
FancyaPint?'s review...
The Spread Eagle has had a tumultuous life in the last decade or two. Way back, it was a Watney's pub, then a pretty rough local, it turning into a non-glossy strip joint, then becoming a very rough and ready Hoxton bar/club and finally metamorphosing into a darker, more sophisticated one. That was a while ago. Nowadays it's a pretty average sort of place for these and, apart from the decadent ceiling decoration and the somewhat surprising urinals, you'll find it a decent enough place, serving a typical range of beers, lagers, wines, spirits and cocktails to a pretty typical Shoreditch crowd.
