Star & Garter, Soho
FancyaPint?'s review...
This is a jolly decent little boozer that's ideal for a quick drink or a longer session (space permitting). Sporting not much more than a jukebox and a small TV, the pub has a great deal more character than many of the more renowned Soho pubs and being just a little bit off the main drag, a little less crowded. The beer is decent, the service is good - the Star & Garter offers a welcome respite from the area's trendsetting stylistas and serves as a reminder that you don't need to do a lot, just do it well, to run a welcoming and hospitable pub. It is closed on Sundays.

Underrated little boozer. 6pm on Thursday evening and there was plenty of room and we even got a table for 7. GK IPA, Pride and Spitfire were all spot on. They even served them out of handle mugs, which pleased a few of our traditionalists.
We'd recommend this for any Soho tour. The area doesn't have many great real ale boozers and if that's what you're looking for the Star & Garter is exactly that
