Station House (ex The Churchfield), Acton
FancyaPint?'s review...
Surprisingly small inside after seeing the grand exterior, the Station House is a comfortable place. The leaning toward Bohemian eclectic interior is no longer the bland experience it used to be and the staff are attentive (always a good thing). There's decent beer options available, including Anchor Steam and a couple of real ales to go along with the Belgian selections. Another surprise was the menu which is pretty much Italian in nature, with pizzas dominating it. Probably the biggest draw for us is the large beer garden at the front which is a delight in warm weather and undoubtedly fills with families in warmer weather. With a regular schedule of events, this place is busy, and we hope it stays that way.

This pub is on Churchfield road and has recently been renovated by new owners. The food is average, pizza's mainly, which are reasonably priced, but if you fancy one of the other dishes available watch out as they are more pricey than they deserve to be. There's little atmosphere, and unfortunately the staff aren't very competent or welcoming, seemingly taking their lead from the new owners. Hardly worth a visit I'd say, unless you're a student from the local music college. More discerning customers would be better off going to the other pubs in the area, which serve much better food, are definitely more welcoming and where your money will be much better spent!
