Stonemason's Arms, Hammersmith
FancyaPint?'s review...
The Stonemasons Arms is one of the earlier proponents of a style of pub now seen throughout this fair city of ours - the renovated gastropub. As such, expect wooden floors, wooden tables, a (pricey) eating section, middle class dinner party musak, a raft of premium lagers and a token ale (London Pride). Service was good and a pleasant enough atmosphere is to be found herein, but there's nothing specifically wonderful to encourage a detour to come here. Being a vanguard of any movement means that you run the risk of being sidelined by newcomers in the rush; unless you keep on your toes, someone will inevitably come along and do the same thing as you - only more interesting.
