Sun Inn, Richmond
FancyaPint?'s review...
No surprise to find a pub with such strong rugby ties here, but there is such a proliferation of Union rules photos, drawings, shirts, and even boots, that the ceiling has been pressed into action to accommodate it all. Of course it can get rammed on the usual match days, and has a big and small screens throughout to show them, but somehow with the handful of outside tables, a big back seating area and determined service, it seems to cope quite well. Despite this, outside the rugby calendar it functions competently as a decent side street local. They offer pub grub, and seem to play easy listening which was, well, easy to listen too. The small central bar had hand pumps offering Pride et al and a standard range of lagers etc.

If you like arrogant, RUDE staff then this is the place for you. There seem to be two levels of service; a) IGNORE you & talk to their mates, or b) IGNORANCE and arrogance should they deign to serve you. It seems incredible that someone would employ someone in a customer-facing position that has the manners of a baboon. But here - they do. And from the genuine reviews below, it seems this awful service has been going on for quite some time at this dive. AVOID at all costs.
