The Albion, Olympia
FancyaPint?'s review...
Any place that has a pie of the week is brilliant, in our book. Having changed hands not too long ago, we were worried the pub may have taken a turn for the worst - we were wrong. It's a good pub, with a fairly traditional interior and little in the way of bar pretence. It's far enough away from Olympia that it doesn't fill up with stray conference attendees during the day - at least ones stumbling in by accident - leaving regulars and local workers to enjoy the pub in peace. With six beers on the taps, kept to Cask Marque standard, the beer drinkers will be spoiled for choice, although the drink selection should fulfil the requirements of most palates. With the good drink selection complimented by friendly staff, reasonably priced pub grub and comfortable seating around the pub, all this makes it a great place to go; we're sure the open fire is a draw in cooler weather, too. If you're in the area, don't join the lemmings, go a little further out of your way and try this one.
