Friendly enough Victorian pub, despite the name. Built in 1890, apparently, it's only a stone's throw from Charlton Athletic's Valley ground and as such, it's a popular place for 'away' supporters to congregate before a match; it's the main pub for meeting up. If you don't make it to the match, you can probably catch the game on the big screen, or at least keep track of the score. There's not much on taps worth writing home about but the Guinness is excellent. It also has rooms upstairs, if you happen to miss that last train or if you want to stay near the football ground. Oh, and be prepared for plastic glasses on match days.
