The Apple Tree, Gray's Inn Road
Staff with an attitude, serving the worst type of pub food, that looks and tastes like it has fallen out of a microwave, scorching hot, but no flavour.
Drinks overpriced, and not particularly good wine selection.
Complaints wise - don't bother, they offer you another version of the same meal, or say complain to Head Office.
If you're looking for a better experience, try the nearby THQ for wine and food, The Blue Lion or The Pakenham, they have a welcome that actually seems genuine.
Oh, and when I did complain to the Head Office, I received a fob off email - seems like the brewery aren't interested in customer service either
45 Mount Pleasant, Gray's Inn Road, London, WC1X 0AE
Chancery Lane: walk up Gray's Inn Road. After the main junction with Theobalds Road/Clerkenwell Road, take the second right, Elm Street (by the "Butty Boys") and follow it along (as it becomes Mount Pleasant) until you find the pub. Farringdon: turn right out of the station, then, at the main junction ahead turn right along Farringdon Road. At the crossroads with traffic lights, turn left down Clerkenwell Road, until you reach Laystall Street. Turn right along that road until you reach Mount Pleasant at the end, then turn right and keep ahead until you reach the pub on your right.
