The Archers, Gidea Park
FancyaPint?'s review...
A Tudor inn (complete with a restricted height entrance doorway), The Archers is a well established favourite place for Gidea Park's gilded youth to come out and play. The single long oak-beamed room is subdivided into several distinct areas, providing more intimate sections which are ideal for anything ranging from a game of pool to a private chat. Although the area around the bar tends to get rather crowded, the atmosphere of the pub is generally relaxed and vivacious. Not quite the air of Ambridge in an admittedly charming Essex garden suburb, but as near as one is likely to find, as the pub is a real focal point of a section of local life. Although not really oriented towards seekers of real ale, Greene King ales are available from the cask.
