The Brewers Inn, Wandsworth
FancyaPint?'s review...
Even without the brewery down the road, this Young's flagship has had a lick of paint and a bit of modernisation, but it hasn't really changed that much. It's still a large pub split into three, with a dining area, saloon bar and back bar function room. There's hotel rooms upstairs, but this doesn't mean a pub with the deadly atmosphere of a travel tavern. The comfy chairs of the saloon bar are ideal for a contemplative drink, although don't expect a space for rumination if the large screen TV is on. The interestingly named 'Moroccan Room' is little more than a function room, but it does have a 1,001 Nights motif. Given the size of the place, it's a handy one if you're drinking in a large group and it carries with it the look and feel of a gastropub. We've nothing against the place, but round this neck of the woods some of the pubs can start to merge into one. It just makes us wish some of the reliable Young's pubs in Wandsworth were located in parts of London more deprived of good boozers.
