Now closed - apparently it's going to be the Barking Park Hotel. Will let you know what becomes of it.

The run down blocks of flats have now been replaced by some very strange white constructions, and the whole place puts me in mind of a Mexican Village. Excellent pint of Young's, good food, and no-nonsense landlady.

Barking: turn left out of the station, then take first left (Wakering Road - between "The Barking Dog" and "The Spotted Dog"). Where the roadway bears off and up to the right, take the pedestrian subway to the left to join the northern section of Wakering Road. Turn right up Church Road. The pub is on the right.
