The Bull Hotel, Gerrards Cross
FancyaPint?'s review...
A potentially atmospheric pub in a historic building, the bar here is simply too corporate and seems to try to be hotel bar - talk about having low ambition? What a shame, as it could be the perfect spot for a quiet pint, if someone cared a little more. It's not that the service is bad, but with Quixote having been a bellboy here once in the distant past, we still reckon any staff can be put on the bar. There are various lagers and beers, but no real ales are offered. An appeal to the owners: Run the hotel for guests, but also make the most of this splendid hotel bar to entice in drinkers and atmosphere -it'll add to the enjoyment of residents and I'm sure locals would pay a premium for the pleasure (The town's other hotel, the Ethorpe has done just that, and it works exceedingly well.)
