This is another outpost in the Geronimo chain and on walking in it was obvious. There's decent beer on the taps, a good (if gastro-leaning) menu and friendly staff. It's probably one of the more trendy versions of Geronimo's working formula, but it's still relaxed and the customers reflected this, along with the staff who are more friendly and efficient than your average Islington boozer. The main draw is clearly the large roof terrace, understandably busy on our last visit. Better than most this close to Angel tube, The Castle is still a strong three-pinter.
