Old style Young's boozer set in the corner of a truly monstrous concrete slab of an office building. Once inside you'll soon forget about that. Clientele seem to be the cast of The Office. Beer is naturally good (Young's don't allow tardy cellar keeping as a rule), food is cheap pub fair - but served really fast. Staff are really friendly and jolly. Overall, quite a good little bolt-hole the sort of place the tourists ignore.

Like the Cartoonist nearby this pub has now sadly closed. The old concrete office buildings which the pubs are on the ground floor of seem to be being demolished to make way for the New Street Square office development to extend across to Shoe Lane.
