The Commons is social club, snooker hall and pub rolled into one. You come here primarily for the games, though: there are four snooker tables in the back room, as well as dart boards and a pool table in the bar area. The service is friendly and the prices are reasonable (though the beer selection merely average). If you've never wielded a cue in anger, you'd be better off drinking at other places nearby, but students of the baize may want to try the Commons.

Now an evangelical church hall, pending a new commercial lease.
