The Commons, Woolwich
our final review
posted by columbo on 05/04/2010
The Commons is social club, snooker hall and pub rolled into one. You come here primarily for the games, though: there are four snooker tables in the back room, as well as dart boards and a pool table in the bar area. The service is friendly and the prices are reasonable (though the beer selection merely average). If you've never wielded a cue in anger, you'd be better off drinking at other places nearby, but students of the baize may want to try the Commons.
Now an evangelical church hall, pending a new commercial lease.

It might be something about its history, an anecdote about the past, what the future plans are for it, or even it's reopened again as a pub - it has been known to happen.
59 Plumstead Common Road, Woolwich, London, SE18 3AS
Woolwich Arsenal railway station is easiest. Turn left and hop on the 51, 53 or 244 bus for five minutes before alighting on Plumstead Common Road - the pub's on your right.
