The Crown is a pretty solid local. There's a decent enough range of beers, cheapish traditional food. It has been redecorated, but retains odd bits of décor from over the years. There's a big screen TV for the main event, with smaller screens for other sporting info. The locals seem to like it and we don't blame them.

This is a horrible pub and I beg anyone thinking of going here to think again. Threatening atmosphere, horrible locals and an all round nasty environment make this the worst pub I have ever been to. The beer choice was fine but this is not worth the awfulness within. I was there in April 2011 though so there is a small chance things have improved. I doubt it though.

The Crown is (in my opinion) the best 'local' pub in the Lavender Hill area. The pub has a ppol table, a dart board and two large screens that show most sporting events (inc sky and ESPN premiership football. The locals are generally a friendly bunch, and prices are reasonable by inner London standards, but please note there is no food available at present (apart from special summer BBQs, e.g. the Lavaneder Hill festival).

The Crown has new owners and a new management team is now in place. Gone are the pool table and darts board, but there is now a daily 'happy hour' between 4-7pm with all pints costing just £2.80. Delicious pizzas can now be purchased from the bar, either to eat in or take away. The pub is currently being re-decorated again, and lodging will be available upstairs.

I have to say that the efforts of the current (and the previous) management are really turing this back into a nice 'local' again.

Sky and ESPN are shown on 2 large flatscreens, and all major sports are shown.

Definitely the best local on Lavender Hill, and worth popping in if you are passing.
