The Dolphin, Hackney
FancyaPint?'s review...
This pub has turned out pretty well after a few ups and downs. It still has some lovely architectural features, the remainders of its Victorian heyday - check out the exquisite tiles and unusual ceiling. Now it has three projection screens it is well and truly wired for sport and the mixed clientele are well into their sport. It's putatively an Irish pub and consequently serves a decent pint of the black stuff as well as having more unusual items such as Magners Irish cider in bottles. A jolly place all in all, but if any of your companions are wine drinkers, you might persuade them to reconsider their choice of tipple in this establishment. Note: as it's one of the places open late in the area, it can get pretty busy at the weekends.
