The Duck, Clapham Junction
FancyaPint?'s review...
This is another one of those pubs we've been by loads of times, but never managed to go in. First impressions (for us, that is, as it's fairly well established here on busy Battersea Rise, off the Northcote Road) are good, although the lack of real ale on the pumps is a touch annoying for beer drinkers. Maybe they're aiming at a more feminine audience, with extensive wine, champagne and cocktail lists and a menu that emphasises stone baked pizzas. But then, again, they're a bit sport mad, with tellies liberally spread through the pub, so it's covering the sports bar angle, too. Nonetheless, it's obviously meeting the needs of it's patrons and you could do worse, and if you don't mind the lack of ale it's a pleasant enough place to chill out in the comfy sofas or rack up a few frames on one of the pool tables.
