A smart and elegant, although far from pretentious, tavern, the Eastbrook is a really quite agreeable suburban pub, and almost certainly the nicest pub in this part of town. Understated civility is the name of the game, with a place to hang your hat and coat, a smart walnut-panelled bar (among others) and a shellfish stall outside. They've also started to sell food at certain times, including the local classic of Pie and Mash and Liqueur (a thin relation of pea soup to those not familiar with East-end cuisine). Not bad at all.

Pea soup? Liquor has no similarities to pea soup - apart from the colour! Traditional liquor for pie and mash is made from parsley, chicken stock and vinegar. Moreover, it is absolutely gorgeous!
