The sign on the outside proclaims this to be a 'bar and grill' - and although it has the décor to match, the feel is more pub than bar. There is nothing wrong with pubs masquerading as something else to broaden their appeal, of course, and an early evening visit provides a fair mix of builders unwinding over a few post-work pints and coffee-sipping laptop-tappers of the type one assumes might shun a mere pub. It all rubs along reasonably well - and some decent beers are on offer. One small moment of concern came when ordering a brandy and soda; the bar staff did not know that cognac is a type of brandy. Tsk.
