The Explorer, Thamesmead
FancyaPint?'s review...
Formerly a cavernous cafe, this one (sadly) lived down to our expectations. It's huge! There's a large main floor, with tables on the pavement and a lower level with nooks you can reserve for those intimate get-togethers. It's obviously aimed at work dos with its deals for groups and signs about function rooms all over the place. it's disappointing, really, as the beers drinkable, if unmemorable. It also does pub grub from noon until 9 at night. It's location should make it a perfect place to show off what a pub can be like to the many visitors that come to London. If this is what they find, they'll leave disappointed.

How to find the The Explorer pub
From Oxford Circus: take the Regent Street NorthOxford Street West exit if you can and head up Regent Street. Take the first left and the pub is ahead on the right. If you can't head for the big HandM store on the corner - it's behind it.
