The Falcon, Clapham Common
FancyaPint?'s review...
This one's had a few years to settle into the scene and while not as teeth-achingly trendy as the nearby Clapham North, it's doing a good job as a modern bar/pub. The menu's no longer Thai, preferring to go for modern pub/gastro and what looks like a decent barbecue menu (obviously in good weather). We still have a bit of a soft spot for it, the vibe still feeling pretty settled and relaxed. There's now a choice of ales on the three taps, and what we sampled was well-kept. There's a decent sized garden at the back offsetting the one at the front, with a large barbecue pit and lots of places to couch out and relax on a sunny day. We always like a place with a pinball machine, and it would be easy to while away a lot of time here. It's worth a look, just wear your shades as it's still that violent yellow colour on the outside!

As with most of the pubs around the Clapham High Street this one is incredibly popular. Front and back outdoor seating make it a great spot to meet up in summer months. Less pretentious than the Clapham North just down the road however the service is outrageously slow.
