The Finsbury, Finsbury Park
The Finsbury is a pub we'd passed many times, without ever feeling tempted to pop in. In the interests of public service we've now done that more than once and are here to tell the tale. There are plenty of TV screens, including a series of smaller ones along the bar, making it a decent venue for watching sport. Unfortunately, some of the regulars became less friendly when our request to have a different match put onto one of those screens resulted in the barman accidentally changing what they were watching. Normal service was quickly resumed, but we still got the feeling they weren't happy campers. With regards to a decent beer selection it isn't really at the races, which coincidentally is the name of the TV station playing on our first visit. There are pool tables at the back for alternative entertainment. As the closest pub to Manor House it can make a useful meeting point, but better options are a short walk away.

the fancy a pint review is now completely out of date, as this pub is now under new management. the pool tables and multi-screens are gone, there is a large music/performance area at the back and regular events, dj nights, open mike nights, barbeques etc. it's a bit like a slice of shoreditch in manor house, with prices to match. albeit with less essex day-trippers. the best pub in the immediate area by far.
