The Florist, Bethnal Green
FancyaPint?'s review...
A lovely relaxed atmosphere pervades the Florist on a Saturday afternoon. It is a bright, pleasant place to be, with friendly staff and a mixture of locals of all ages and hairstyles. The drinks selection is decent - with two cask ales (including a lovely champion guest ale for our visit) and some nice surprises on tap too. The ubiquitous leather sofas hinted at its trendy aspirations, but that shouldn't put you off. It was just winding up for the evening as we left: the cocktail bar came out (seemed like a good selection, but can't vouch for them personally) and it was starting to get busy. Bethnal Green pubs are a mixed bunch, but along with the Camel next door this is one of the better examples.

generally this is a great boozer.
can get spectacularly busy though.
last visit was somewhat brief as, although it wasn't as busy as i have seen it (i got to the bar easily enough), and although there were three members of staff working (all somehow avoiding the death trap into the cellar), i got bored and left before anyone looked like serving me.
fled to the Camel around the corner. followed by half of the people stood at the bar. clearly i wasn't the only one struggling that night.
won't right it off just yet.
