We weren't entirely sure what was going to happen to this one. But after the traditional-style pub that was here closed a while back it's reopened as a hip and trendy style bar. This may have been the best thing for it, as it is located in a modern block of a building and can easily entice local workers in for a few drinks. And they obviously know which side their bread's buttered on. There's a (rare for central London) outdoor area at the front and this fills up in good weather. Not our cup of tea as such, but it's obviously got its admirers.

Head out of Holborn Tube down Kingsway and cross the road when you can. Great Queen Street is the second road on the right, turn down it and you'll see the pub on the corner.
