It's settled down a bit now, and the DSS have been moved from out the front. On sundays it's families with screaming kids, but most weekday evening it's ok. Cheap beer, very clean toilets, the food seems to be a bit hit and miss, they have this thing where your food has to be in front of you in as sorter time as possible, even if it turns up cold or under cooked. My chips turn up both, asked them to heat them again and all they did was put them under the grill, that resulted in chips that were hot outside but frozen inside.
When it first started all the waitresses were new and never used to see any table that needed clearing, but now they seems to have been properly trained at last.
In summer time there is a roof terrace.

This place has been 'Wetherspooned' and it looks very smart. It opened on July 19. Prices are apparently higher than other High St. pubs in the chain. I had half an ale, very nice it was too, £1.22. Shame the same can't be said of the intimidating types near the front of the pub, or the packed tables of people who looked like they could kick off if they drank too much. I did take one photo of the new front, but the glares I got meant I didn't hang around. I saw police arrive on the 21st, about 6pm, to deal with a fight. Not a good start and you wonder what plans they have if any to make this a better place for the rest of us to drink in.

The best station to use is Bromley South. Come out of the station and turn right, and walk up the hill. Walk though the pedestrians only area when you get to the end, its the second pub on the right hand side of the main road.
