The Hanbury Arms, City Road
FancyaPint?'s review...
Once an N1 offshoot of The Social in the West End, this one's been relaunched as The Hanbury Arms, its original name (as indicated by the name plate on the exterior). Built way back when, as one of the Charrington's brewery's pubs, this one still retains a fine wooden interior which is conducing enough to sink a couple of drinks in. As for the SUP, the new owners are going for a pub which specialises in stone baked pizzas, an ethos shared with this one's sister pubs The Lauriston and The Regent. We haven't had a chance to try the selections yet, spending most of the time on our visits admiring the classic jukebox and the selections therein. Judging by our visits though, this one is starting to pull in the punters: no easy feat in a heavily residential area.

Went to see the Liverpool v Arsenal game here on the recommendation of a friend. The HD projector is amazing and tbh didn't know HD projector's existed.
Nice chilled out vibe and the pizza is pretty dam good. It's cooked in some sort of wood fire oven.
Worth a visit.

How to find the The Hanbury Arms pub
Arlington Square is beside Regents Canal, just off New North Road. To get there from Angel tube or Essex Road is a sometimes tortuous walk through the byways and estates of Islington. We'd recommend a bus down New North Road and walk from there.
