Named for the inventor of the Hansom Cab, Joseph Aloysius Hansom, things have changed since we were last in here - another change in management. Most notably, there are now four to five real ales on the taps at any one time, a vast improvement over the single one when we last went in! The interior still has plenty of features, including a real fire and plenty of nooks to try and hide in. While no menu can avoid the odd gastro touch these days, the menu here is a decent mix of traditional and modern - and we'd happily eat it all. What can we say but it's nice to see a pub trying hard and doing their best to make it a good experience at the same time. With the Monday Quiz, Friday cocktail specials and mouth-watering (sounding) Sunday roasts, we're likely to be going back to this one soon.
