The Hop Poles has had something of a regeneration since we first reviewed it some years ago. Gone is the teenage disco feel and in comes a relaxed decent pub with a great little terrace out back if the weather's good. We found 3 pump ales on show (and nothing from the Fuller's stable, despite it being so close). Around the pub there's a good amount of seating and several fruities and a quiz machine if you get bored. The food was average but that's not to say it was no good. It was just your standard pub menu with no fuss. Fine by us. Hammersmith's pubs are regenerating and we like it!

Recently refurbished the pub seems to have completely shaken of its chavy past, and is now elegantly and smartly furnished for a far more up-market and sophisticated crowd. They have a very good selection of beers including Peroni on draft and London Pride and Timothy Taylor’s Landlord.

The big TVs are no longer showing noisy football games but instead the place has a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, where the music is well chosen but not drowning out our conversations. I found the staff to be pleasant and professional and the place has seemed to have changed drastically in the last year, both physically and in customer experience.
