The Hornsey Tavern, Hornsey
FancyaPint?'s review...
The Hornsey Tavern is a friendly, popular local in leafy Hornsey. It seemed as if one or two of the older regulars had a rather faraway look in their eye, but everyone appeared to know each other, which made for a jolly atmosphere. Some nice original wood panelling, pool table, Sky TV and lack of real ale make this firmly a traditional-style local. It could also do with some decorative TLC and the boxes piled in corners didn't exactly give it a professional feel. Our first visit way back when found us being encouraged to partake in the barbecue going on in the (vaguely depressing) back yard and our sporadic follow-up visits have found it a harmless place to have a drink.

How to find the The Hornsey Tavern pub
From Turnpike Lane tube you need to catch a bus, or have a good 15 minute walk. Out of the tube, find the bus stop on Turnpike Lane itself (opposite the Burger King) and either jump on the 144 bus for four or five stops, or walk straight until you reach the pub on your left. Hornsey Train Station is a bit nearer. Out the exit, turn right and then left at the lights and its a 10 minutes walk from there.
