The House, Canonbury
FancyaPint?'s review...
Not any old house this but The House, described by its owners as a 'pub dining room.' Firmly established in gastro territory for a while now and sister pub/restaurant to the Only Running Footman in Mayfair and the new Portman behind Oxford Street, it is still possible to just go in for a drink. In warm weather it makes the most of a small garden at the front, which isn't a bad spot for a pint in the summer, if you don't mind the road just over there. Only one ale on tap when we were in last, but if a beer isn't your thing then perhaps something off the cocktail menu would appeal. Unfortunately, last time we tried to enjoy the garden we didn't stay long because of the multitude of three-wheeled prams and the ear-piercing sounds emanating from them.
