The Kennington, Kennington
FancyaPint?'s review...
On first impressions, there's little to differentiate this one with its hard wood furnishings from a myriad of other London pub makeovers. Added to the rather standard range of lagers and beers at the bar, we had this one down as a rather mundane pub. We were pleasantly surprised then, that the atmosphere of this one more than made up for it. A good mix of SE5 locals inhabit the place, and it's all helped along by the very cheery bar staff. Add to the equation excellent value pub grub and a varied list of music nights and you have a pub that nestles in at a 3 pinter in our ratings. It's also your best bet on the long drag from Oval to Camberwell.

The Kennington Pub and Kitchen opened it's doors mid March 2012 - Previous reviews refer to it's former incarnation as The Black Sheep. Under new ownership and with new Head Chef, Adam wilding, the pub is going from strength to strength. With 2 ales plus a guest each week, alongside our new menu, with daily specials and the best Sunday Roast in town, it's certainly with a try. Come and check us out!
