The Landor, Stockwell
Just what you want when wandering the wastelands where Brixton and Clapham merge. Sadly, the much-needed refurb has taken place with the result that the knicknacks have gone, replaced by a more gastro-green interior. It's still got the theatre upstairs with regular comedy nights, there's still a good range of drinks, including decent real ales, and a genial atmosphere. The old Truman, Hanbury and Buxton brewery name on the outside has gone, replaced by a more muted grey colour scheme, but classy nonetheless. Be sure to give a look to the rather large beer garden: it's a welcoming spot, with a mural and an overgrown street lamp to keep you company as well as the addition of a pool table. If that wasn't enough Sunday nights have an intelligent-looking pub quiz too. Hard to fault really. So we won't.

I have been visiting this pub for years, it is now under new ownership, recently refurbished. This pub has improved... a lot. Very friendly staff in place of the previous surly, unhelpful bunch. The beer is kept well and a good selction of other drinks avaliable. The food is also good and reasonably priced. Large beer garden some under cover with outside tvs and pool table. I would suggest if you are in Clapham North to bypass the more obvious places, walk 1 minute down Landor Road, visit this bar and make your own mind up.
