The immediate area around Hammersmith tube isn't a happy hunting ground for pubs but the Laurie Arms is certainly one of your better bets. Once an old one room Irish boozer, it's now a brightly lit bar with an airy conservatory at the side. Decent Thai grub, a pool table and a juke box may not be the most cutting edge of pub accoutrements, but they slot in well here. Presently, the pub does look a bit lonely - it's sandwiched between two derelict buildings, one the former Hammersmith Palais - but it seemed to have a good amount of custom. Still, if you're passing through, give this one your support.
