Whereas in most refitted pubs the blackboard announces the food selections, when we stopped by, the one at the Marlborough offered a large-sized Sudoku grid for punters to puzzle over and chalk up their solution. Certainly makes a change from 'Bangers & Mash - £9.95'. The board aside, this one has all the hallmarks of a modern Mitchells & Butlers makeover (the global beers, the loungey furnishings) and also a rather sizeable beer garden. Rather a hike from Richmond centralis, but if you fancy escaping the hordes by the river then it's probably worth the climb.
