The Old Bell, Maida Vale
FancyaPint?'s review...
The décor and staff are pleasant enough and there is Kilburn's only beer garden (albeit one overlooking a demolition site and some train tracks), but there is nothing special about this Smith & Jones boozer. On our visit, all of the pint glasses we received we absolutely filthy on the inside (not that it stopped us drinking our pints, it just put us off hanging around for another).

I echo the comment posted - the Old Bell is a better pub than when reviewed by Fancyapint. Yes the beer is average, the music is lively but ordinary in quality and the Gents toilets need a refurb, but still the pub provides a good Saturday night out. The beer is cheap for London (£4.80 for 1 beer 1 lager) and those prices have been held for at least 3 years. The bar staff work very hard to meet demand, even on a busy night (and they certainly do a lot of glass washing) and the food looks good, although I have not eaten there. The Old Bell is probably not special enough to make a long trek across Town, but definitely one of the better pubs in the immediate area.
